he 4th International Model-OIC (4th IMOIC) kicked off Wed. in Mashhad, Iran, with participation of 100 students from 40 the top-tier Universities in the OIC Member States.
Majid Pirasteh, Chairman of the Steering Council for the 4th International Model-OIC (4th IMOIC), said the summit is modeled on the ministerial meeting of the OIC Member States with an aim to train Muslim scholars for political and cultural consultations and increase their political knowledge.
According to him, 100 students from 40 Muslim countries such as Turkey, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Jordan, Iraq, Azerbaijan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Mozambique, the Philippines, Algeria, Morocco, Georgia, Somalia, Bangladesh, Egypt, Ghana, Nigeria, Tunisia, Serbia, Uganda, Turkmenistan, Sudan, Yemen, and Lebanon, are participating in the 5-day event.
The group of outstanding students of international affairs during 5 days of the Global Summit simulations will receive high-end training in critical tools of understanding and further promoting knowledge-based approach to contemporary international affairs.
Workshops and practical panels have been held on the sidelines of the summit since 22 October. According to Pirasteh, the topics of the panels included ‘the concept of Islamic solidarity and its application in international relations’, ‘the role of democracy and good governance in developing countries’, and ‘platforms for deepening and promoting cooperation among Islamic countries’.
The 4th International Model-OIC (4th IMOIC) will last until October 28 in the cultural capital of the Islamic world.
The Third International Model OIC (3rd IMOIC) was successfully held on 2-6 July 2013 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia .
